Biography

Iskra Cvetkovikj is a Professor at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Skopje. She is a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in veterinary sciences from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. She holds the position of Head of the Laboratory for Clinical Microbiology and the Laboratory for Rabies at the National Veterinary and Food Institute.

Her professional experience includes her academic career progression from Junior Teaching Assistant (2006-2011) to Professor (2025-present) at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. Her work involves teaching courses in Microbiology and Immunology. She has published over 80 publications, participated in numerous national as well as international projects and supervised training courses and fellowships related to animal diseases.

She is a member of the Multisectoral Commission for control of Antimicrobial Resistance within the Ministry of Health of Republic of Macedonia and several working groups within the Food and Veterinary Agency of Republic of Macedonia related to eradication programs for Tuberculosis, Brucellosis and antimicrobial resistance. She is a member of the ESCMID Study Group for Veterinary microbiology (ESGVM), ESCMID Study Group for AI and Digitalisation (ESGAID) and the Companion Animal Microbiology Protocols (CAMiProt) Initiative of ENOVAT.
