Biography
Sanja Lakićević Medenica, MD, PhD, was born on October 12, 1971, in Kolašin, Montenegro. She completed her medical degree and specialization in epidemiology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, Serbia.
Since 2001, she has been working at the Center for Control and Prevention of Infectious Diseases, Institute of Public Health of Montenegro. Her professional and scientific interests focus on vector-borne infectious diseases and zoonoses.
In 2016, she defended her doctoral dissertation on Epidemiological and Ecological Characteristics of Leishmaniasis in Montenegro at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Niš, Serbia.
She has been a teaching associate at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montenegro, since 2019.
As a lecturer or participant, she has attended numerous professional meetings, conferences, seminars, congresses, and workshops both in the country and abroad.
She is the author and co-author of numerous professional and scientific papers.
