Biography
Mirko Prodanov is an Associate Professor, Head of the Reception and Sample Preparation Laboratory, and Quality Manager for ISO 17025 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – Skopje. He graduated from the same faculty in 2008. In 2013, under the mentorship of Prof. Slavco Mrenoshki, he defended his master’s thesis, “Prevalence, Serotyping and Antimicrobial Resistance of Salmonella spp. in Laying Hens in the Republic of Macedonia”, earning the title Master of Veterinary Medicine. In 2016, under the mentorship of Prof. Vlatko Ilieski, he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation, “Assessment of the Welfare of Laying Hens and the Effect of Welfare on the In-flock Prevalence of Salmonella in Laying Hens”, obtaining the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Veterinary Sciences.
Since 2008, Dr. Prodanov has been a faculty member at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – Skopje, actively contributing to both teaching and research. He delivers theoretical and practical lectures in the courses Hygiene and Technology of Meat and Meat Products, Hygiene and Technology of Milk and Dairy Products, and Food Safety and Veterinary Public Health.
He is the co-author of four books and more than 50 peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Prodanov plays an active role in the scientific community as a member of the organizing committee for the Days of Veterinary Medicine scientific conference and has contributed to numerous international and domestic scientific events. In addition, he serves as a lead and technical assessor for ISO 17025 implementation in laboratories for the Institute for Accreditation of the Republic of Macedonia.
